Privacy Policy

IIM X ("we", "us") operates a private, invitation-based alumni network for verified IIM alumni, available on the web and as a mobile app (in.iimx.app). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

• Account & verification: your mobile number (used as your login via one-time password) and verification status.
• Profile: name, IIM/institution, programme, batch and graduation year, city, role, company, LinkedIn URL, bio, sectors, interests, and an optional profile photo.
• Content you create: posts, jobs, events, asks, referrals, connection requests and messages within the network.
• Technical: standard log data (device/app version, timestamps) needed to operate and secure the service.

We do not collect payment card details. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

2. How we use your information

• To authenticate you and verify IIM alumni status.
• To build your member profile and power discovery, warm intros, jobs, events and deal flow.
• To match and rank members by interests, sector, IIM, batch and city.
• To keep the network safe and prevent abuse.

3. How information is shared

• Other verified members can see your profile and content according to your visibility settings.
• Service providers: profile photos are stored on ImageKit; the app and database are hosted on cloud infrastructure (Railway / MongoDB Atlas). These providers process data only to provide their service.
• We never sell your personal data.
• We may disclose information if required by law.

4. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time — see our Account & Data Deletion page.

5. Your rights

• Access & edit: view and update your profile in the app (Me → Edit Profile).
• Delete: request deletion of your account and data (see link above).

6. Security

Access is restricted to verified members and protected with token-based authentication over encrypted connections. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

7. Children

IIM X is intended only for verified IIM alumni and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
